HERITAGE FRONT GARDEN

Faced with a near blank canvas the principal challenge in this project was to get both our client and their car from street level down the 1.6m slope to their front door. Our only other predetermined height was created by the existing mature Crepe Myrtle a third of the way down the slope. The design needed to be practical but at the same time do justice to this beautiful example of an early Californian bungalow.

The result is three levels of lush full plantings with a central path and steps that transport you down to the front verandah. Two large pots complete with fish and water plants create a focal point to a homely entrance. The Crepe Myrtle sits proudly in its new home behind some of the extensive brickwork constructed to create this tiered garden.
